Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Sales Plumet After QC Issues
High-Performance Hype Fizzles: Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Sees Steep Sales Decline
Auto News

Sales of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra dropped sharply in late 2025, falling to just 45 units in December after peaking at 3,101 units in March.

While monthly sales remained strong between March and August, a steep decline began in September and continued through year-end.

Launched in February 2025 at 529,900 yuan, the 1,548-hp SU7 Ultra ultimately surpassed 10,000 cumulative sales, meeting initial targets, though most demand was concentrated in the first half of the year.

A series of post-launch controversies and quality control issues may have contributed to the downturn. In contrast, Xiaomi Auto’s broader lineup continues to perform strongly.

In December 2025, the standard SU7 sold over 11,000 units, while the YU7 exceeded 39,000. Xiaomi Auto ranked among China’s top 10 new energy vehicle manufacturers in 2025 with over 411,000 units sold, marking a 200.9% year-over-year increase.

With a 2026 sales target of 550,000 units, Xiaomi’s growth remains driven by mainstream household models, with the niche SU7 Ultra having little impact on the company’s overall upward sales trajectory.
