Skoda has decided the best way to celebrate 30 years of the Octavia isn’t with cake, balloons or a mildly awkward speech — but with paint. Loud paint.
To mark the milestone, Skoda UK asked the internet what colour the hot Octavia vRS should wear next. After much furious thumb-tapping across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, the winner emerged: Dragon Skin. Yes, really.
It narrowly beat Storm Blue and Tangerine Orange in what we can only assume was the most heated democratic process involving car paint since someone first suggested beige.
From 4 March 2026, UK buyers can spec their vRS in this new shade for £855, applied to both hatch and estate versions.
But the colour invasion doesn’t stop there. Later this year, Dragon Skin will also appear on a limited run of 130 Octavia SportLine models, alongside those other suitably sci-fi sounding hues and Royal Green.
All of this comes as the Skoda Octavia turns 30, it is the car that helped drag Skoda Auto from bargain-bin punchline to a “I’m not embraced to admit” smart buy.
