AC Cars has unveiled the production-ready AC Cobra GT Coupe, marking a bold new chapter for Britain’s oldest active car manufacturer as it celebrates its 125th anniversary.

Inspired by the iconic AC A98 Le Mans race car, the GT Coupe combines classic Cobra styling with modern supercar engineering. Featuring a dramatic fixed-roof design, carbon fibre bodywork and a lightweight aluminium spaceframe chassis, the new model delivers a more aggressive and aerodynamic interpretation of the legendary Cobra.

The GT Coupe shares much of its engineering with the recently introduced GT Roadster, but introduces unique styling elements including a “double bubble” roof and distinctive Kammtail rear design, both aimed at improving airflow and enhancing performance.

Power comes from a 5.0-litre V8 engine available in two configurations. The naturally aspirated version produces 456 PS, while the supercharged variant delivers up to 730 PS and 820 Nm of torque. AC Cars claims the flagship model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 3.5 seconds. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Despite its race-inspired appearance, the GT Coupe has been designed as a luxurious grand tourer. The cabin combines handcrafted leather finishes, modern infotainment technology and bespoke detailing, with extensive customization options available for customers.

Production will remain extremely limited, with each vehicle built to individual specifications. Prices are expected to start at approximately £234,300 plus taxes for the naturally aspirated model and £256,300 plus taxes for the supercharged version. First customer deliveries are scheduled for 2028 following completion of GT Roadster production.
