Someone Paid $737,000 For A Nearly New Toyota
Auto News

This isn’t an ordinary Toyota, it’s the Toyota Century SUV — the company’s take on ultra-luxury motoring, available at what almost seems like a sensible price: around $170,000 new in Japan.

But if you live in sanctioned Russia, importing a Toyota like this becomes rather more complicated. And expensive. Very expensive.

But not if you are a crafty car dealer in Russia is asking an eye-watering price for a lightly used Toyota Century SUV imported through the gray market, proving exclusivity comes at a serious premium.

Toyota Century SUV - Interior

Inside, the Century SUV delivers exactly the kind of luxury expected from Toyota’s flagship model. The cabin features brown leather upholstery, an Alcantara headliner, and a four-seat layout designed around rear passenger comfort.

The vehicle in question is a left-hand-drive 2024 Century SUV finished in black with matching 22-inch alloy wheels and red brake calipers.

Despite having just 2,100 km (1,300 miles) on the odometer and only one previous owner, the real headline is the price tag: 52.9 million rubles, or roughly $737,000 at current exchange rates.

Buyers get heated, ventilated and massaging rear seats with electric legrests, along with rear entertainment screens, premium audio, four-zone climate control, and a glass partition separating the passenger compartment from the cargo area.

That figure is more than four times the Century SUV’s official Japanese retail price and even exceeds the market value of some lightly used Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II models currently available in Russia.

One notable omission is the dimming rear glass introduced on the updated 2025 model.

Under the hood sits a 3.5-litre V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain producing a combined 406 hp. Power is sent through an e-CVT transmission and Toyota’s E-Four Advanced all-wheel-drive system. The 21.3 kWh battery provides up to 69 km (43 miles) of electric-only driving range.

The SUV is listed by Royal Motors in Moscow, where parallel imports continue to create a lucrative niche market for rare luxury vehicles. Another 2025 Century SUV is also reportedly listed in Russia for a comparatively lower $541,500.

Even so, Ferrari money for a Toyota remains a bold flex, even by Moscow luxury standards.
