Mat Armstrong bought a repossessed Porsche 911 GT3 RS that appeared to be in perfect condition — except for one major problem: the engine would not start.
After taking delivery of the car, Armstrong discovered that the GT3 RS had a serious history. Porsche had reportedly refused to carry out repairs under warranty, while the original owner had apparently stopped making payments on the finance agreement, leading to the vehicle being repossessed.
Armstrong and his team began a full investigation, stripping down the car and inspecting the engine. Surprisingly, they could not find any major internal damage. The only issues they uncovered were a lack of engine oil, loose sump plugs and missing coolant. After addressing these problems, they managed to turn the engine over, suggesting that the car might not be as badly damaged as first feared.
However, Armstrong remained unconvinced. Could he have stumbled upon the bargain of a lifetime — a Porsche 911 GT3 RS bought for a fraction of its true value? Or was there a hidden problem waiting to reveal itself?
