Mansory has done what Mansory does best: taken an already enormous, outrageously expensive Rolls-Royce Cullinan and decided that what it really needed was to survive a gunfight.

The company’s US division has built the first armored Cullinan sold in America, giving the luxury SUV certified B4 ballistic protection.

That means this isn’t merely a Cullinan with some suspiciously thick windows. Mansory says the armored glass and reinforced doors were subjected to live-fire testing with 9mm, .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum ammunition. Apparently, they survived. Which is reassuring, unless your daily commute involves considerably larger artillery.

The really impressive bit is the weight gain. A standard Cullinan already tips the scales at 6,173 lbs, but Mansory claims its ballistic package adds only around 300 lbs.

That is surprisingly little for something designed to stop bullets, and means the twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 should still have enough muscle to haul the occupants away from trouble at considerable speed.

With 562 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, the standard Cullinan can reach 60 mph in roughly five seconds. The Black Badge is even more powerful, producing 592 hp and 664 lb-ft.

Naturally, Mansory hasn’t stopped at armor. The Cullinan gets the usual visual treatment: wider intakes, a new splitter, revised side skirts and flared arches.

So here we have a Rolls-Royce that can repel bullets while looking like it has just escaped from a particularly aggressive nightclub. What more could a VIP possibly want?
