Kia President and CEO Paul Philpott has officially opened a multi-million-pound, 80,000-square-foot showroom in West Hendon, describing the new Alan Day Motor Group dealership as a potential leader within Kia’s UK network.
Located on Garrick Road, the state-of-the-art facility can accommodate more than 200 new and used vehicles, including Kia’s latest electric models and PV5 electric vans. The site features a modern sales and aftersales operation, alongside a high-tech workshop with 14 service ramps, diagnostic bays and plans for a further 12 ramps in early 2027.
Speaking at the opening, Philpott praised the dealership and expressed confidence in its future success. He also revealed Kia was targeting record annual sales of around 120,000 vehicles, positioning the manufacturer as the UK’s second-largest car brand.

Alan Day managing director Paul Tanner said the new business had created more than 25 local jobs, with further recruitment planned. The dealership will also introduce a late-night servicing operation for Uber drivers.
Tanner emphasised the importance of customer relationships and community involvement, highlighting the group’s commitment to local initiatives and inclusive activities.
The high-profile opening event attracted sporting personalities, including former Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew and England rugby stars Ben Earl, Chandler Cunningham-South and Marlie Packer.
The new showroom represents a significant investment in Kia’s UK retail network, combining expanded vehicle choice, advanced servicing facilities and a strong focus on customer experience and community engagement.
