Dubai has never been a city particularly interested in subtlety. So naturally, Manhart has built an SUV with 900PS, 1,200Nm and enough carbon fibre to make a Formula One car feel underdressed.

Meet the Manhart MHXM 900 Dubai Limited Edition, based on BMW’s already enormous XM and created to celebrate Manhart’s 40th anniversary in 2026. Only ten will be built, each presumably destined for someone who thinks a normal 650PS luxury SUV lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.

The theme is “Desert Couture”, which sounds like something you might order at an extremely expensive restaurant. The XM is finished in porcelain white with champagne-coloured graphics, inspired by the traditional kandura.

Beneath the tasteful exterior lurks a carbon-fibre widebody kit, 24-inch forged wheels and enough visual aggression to make a desert camel reconsider its career choices.

Inside, things get even more extravagant. Ivory leather, brown Alcantara, leather and exposed carbon fibre create an environment somewhere between private jet and very expensive lounge.

But the important number is 900. Manhart’s MHtronik Powerbox boosts the XM’s 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 and electric motor to 900PS and 1,200Nm. That is a frankly silly amount of thrust for something large enough to have its own postcode.

An optional Akrapovič titanium exhaust adds the soundtrack to match, while H&R springs and wheel spacers help the enormous 24-inch wheels sit properly beneath the arches.

Ten examples. 900PS. 1,200Nm. Desert Couture. Very expensive.

Subtle? Absolutely not. But then, this is Dubai.
