Tesla Roadster Engineering Explained: Legit or Marketing Stunt?
Video

Tesla’s new Roadster has captured attention with three extraordinary demonstrations: driving upside down, performing an airborne kickflip and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 0.81 seconds.

An engineering analysis by YouTuber Engineering Explained suggests these stunts are physically plausible. Powerful fans create suction beneath the car, generating enough downforce to enable upside-down driving.

Meanwhile, compressed nitrogen thrusters could provide the thrust needed for short jumps and dramatic aerial manoeuvres.

The acceleration claims also appear possible for higher-specification versions equipped with additional downforce and rocket thrusters. However, these calculations depend on Tesla’s stated specifications and several engineering assumptions.

The biggest question is whether Tesla will deliver these features in a production vehicle. Previous ambitious promises have not always materialised as announced.

Ultimately, the Roadster’s technology looks impressive, but its real-world capabilities and availability remain unproven. The engineering may be legitimate; consumers must wait for the finished product.
