McLaren will introduce a series of small upgrades to its car at this weekend’s São Paulo Grand Prix as the team looks to address its recent struggles and give Lando Norris a more predictable package.

The reigning World Champion has endured a challenging campaign, with McLaren finding it increasingly difficult to fight for victories following back-to-back summer wins.

Both Norris and Oscar Piastri have struggled to extract the maximum performance from a car that has proved difficult to drive consistently.

Speaking ahead of the Brazilian weekend, Norris expressed optimism that the latest developments could move the team in the right direction, although he admitted their impact on drivability remains uncertain.

“We’ve got some small things to add to the car this weekend, so we hope that can move us in a better direction,” Norris explained.

The Briton also acknowledged that the upgrades could make the car even more challenging to handle, but believes any performance gain would provide an opportunity to improve its consistency through further adjustments.

McLaren’s focus extends beyond outright speed, with the team working to develop a car that better suits the demands of its drivers.

“There’s always been very good potential, but getting it out of the car is not always very easy,” Norris added.

Having won in São Paulo last season, Norris will be hoping the latest improvements can provide renewed momentum as McLaren looks to finish the campaign strongly.
