eBay UK, has unveiled the most expensive car parts and accessories sold on its platform during the first half of 2024. Performance engines, carbon fibre components, high-end cars, and exclusive number plates dominated the top 10.
Topping the list were items from the performance car sector. The priciest purchase was an Audi R8 5.2 V10 petrol engine, which sold for £16,567. Following closely were two sets of Porsche carbon bucket seats: one for a 911 GT3 at £13,085 and another for a Cayman GT4 at £11,962.
In fourth place, a Tesla Model S battery pack was sold for £8,606—significantly less than the cost of a brand-new Tesla battery.
Exclusive vehicle registrations also made the list, including “ELON X,” perfect for a Tesla enthusiast, which fetched £8,606, and “DIESEL,” sold for £8,135, highlighting the variety of items available on eBay.
Interestingly, the most expensive Ferrari item wasn’t an engine or a carbon fiber part but a complete set of tailored luggage for the 512TR, purchased for £8,518, securing the sixth spot.
Other notable items include a 5.0-liter V8 engine for an L405 Range Rover (£7,884) and an incomplete 1965 Ford Mustang project car (£7,450).
