McLaren unveils the W1, the long-awaited successor to the P1, completing a trilogy of legendary hypercars. Limited to 399 units, it honours McLaren’s racing legacy, debuting 50 years after the brand’s first Formula 1 title.
Powered by a new MHP-8 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and hybrid system, the W1 delivers 1,275hp and 1,340Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 2.7s and a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). Aerodynamics are cutting-edge, with 1,000kg of downforce and a 300mm extendable rear wing.
With futuristic Anhedral ‘gullwing’ doors and a meticulously designed cockpit, the W1 is a bold statement of McLaren’s engineering dominance.
Shmee150 receives a fortunate invitation to tour the new W1 in person.
