Fifty years after the original Lotus Esprit S1 debuted at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, Encor has unveiled the Encor Series 1 — a carbon-fibre remaster of the iconic sports car. Limited to 50 units, the Series 1 retains the spirit and chassis of Colin Chapman’s original design while incorporating modern materials, performance upgrades, and technology.
The original backbone frame remains, but Encor replaces the fibreglass body with a carbon-fibre shell that is lighter, stiffer, and aerodynamically refined. The rebuilt Lotus V8 engine offers improved performance and drivability while preserving the car’s authentic identity and registration.

Inside, the cockpit blends classic design with luxury and technology, featuring leather, Alcantara, machined aluminium, and discreet modern integrations such as Apple CarPlay, 360° cameras, and advanced climate control.
Encor’s team includes veterans from Pagani, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin, Porsche, and Lotus, bringing decades of supercar expertise. Co-founder Simon Lane emphasises that Encor’s goal is to elevate the Esprit without compromising its soul.
The Encor Series 1 will be fully revealed in November 2025, priced from £430,000 (excluding options, taxes, and donor Lotus Esprit V8).
