It’s not often you hear a car reviewer tell their audience not to buy a specific car — but that’s exactly what the host of the YouTube channel Telescope did during his static review of the Tesla Model Y L. The Model Y L is an extended-wheelbase version of the standard Model Y. In China, it starts at around $47,000 to $47,200 USD, or roughly 339,000 yuan.
The Model Y L hasn’t been officially confirmed for Europe or the U.S. yet, though the reviewer suggests it will eventually make its way to European markets. That raises an interesting question: what happens to the Model X? Since the Model X is now sold only in the United States, the longer-wheelbase Model Y L seems to fill the gap left by its absence abroad.
But with the average household size in the U.S. and Europe at about 2.55 people, who exactly is the seven-seat Model Y L meant for? Anyway, don’t take my word for it — watch the video and decide for yourself. Because that’s how democracy works… or does it?
