Gordon Murray Special Vehicles has sold its final S1 LM supercar (Chassis #1) for $20.63M (£15.77M) at a Las Vegas auction, setting a new record as the most expensive new car ever sold at auction (non-charity).

The car made a dramatic entrance, arriving suspended beneath a helicopter at the amfAR Gala during the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.

Fierce bidding from collectors worldwide pushed the S1 LM to its record-breaking price, cementing its status as the “Special One.”

With a name that recalls Gordon Murray’s legendary McLaren F1 LM, the S1 LM is the first and most exclusive creation from Gordon Murray Special Vehicles.

Just five examples will be built, each a masterpiece of lightweight engineering and timeless design. Highlights include:
