A 2017 Bentley Bentayga W12 rolled into The Car Edition workshop for what should have been a routine service: spark plugs, oil, and an oil filter.
Simple enough, right? But of course, they couldn’t resist giving it a proper health check before lifting a wrench—because that’s how they roll.
Everything looked pristine on paper, and the car came with a squeaky-clean history report. Or so it seemed.
Once the lads dug a little deeper, signs of previous crash damage emerged. Cue the awkward questions: if a history report doesn’t tell the full story, what exactly is it good for?
A bit of digging revealed the car came from GVE, a UK dealer now in administration (sad times). To make things even more interesting, the current owner had brought their own service parts—unboxed, just chilling in the boot.
Not exactly the Bentley-level attention to detail you’d expect, but it added an extra layer of drama to what should have been a simple service.
Moral of the story? Even when a car looks perfect on paper, never underestimate what a thorough once-over can reveal. In the world of high-end SUVs, it seems even a Bentayga can hide a few skeletons in its boot.
