Ferrari has appointed Massimiliano Di Silvestre as its new Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer, replacing long-serving executive Enrico Galliera after more than 16 years with the company.
Di Silvestre will join Ferrari on 1 July, following nearly seven years as President and CEO of BMW Group Italy, where he helped strengthen the brand’s position in the country’s premium automotive market.
He will report directly to CEO Benedetto Vigna and brings over two decades of experience in the luxury automotive sector, with a background in commercial strategy and business transformation.
The leadership change comes shortly after Ferrari unveiled the Luce, its first fully electric model. The launch attracted significant criticism, particularly regarding its unconventional design and Ferrari’s shift away from its traditional combustion-engine heritage.
Galliera’s departure had been agreed earlier in the year, with the executive remaining in place to oversee the important EV launch. Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna praised his contribution to strengthening the company’s global brand during his tenure.
Despite the mixed reception to the Luce, Ferrari has stated that interest from both new and existing customers remains strong.
However, order figures have not yet been released, with further updates expected alongside the company’s second-quarter results at the end of July.
