The Ford Mustang Dark Horse SC is already a fairly serious piece of American muscle, but if you fancied yours with an extra helping of exclusivity, you’d better get your order in quickly.
Ford is reportedly dropping the Track Pack Special Edition for the 2027 model year, making its debut year a rather short-lived affair.

Effectively the spiritual successor to the mighty Shelby GT500, the Dark Horse SC combines serious supercharged V8 muscle with a track-focused chassis and performance upgrades.
The Track Pack Special Edition takes things further, adding a Carbon Fibre Exterior Package, black-painted roof, Race Red Brembo brake calipers and distinctive bonnet and boot graphics.

Inside, there’s plenty more theatre, including Solar Red Recaro seats, red-striped seatbelts, a 3D-printed titanium paddle shifter and special serialized dashboard badging.
All this comes at a fairly eye-watering $175,965, compared with $144,985 for a regular Track Pack car and $108,485 for the standard Dark Horse SC.

So, yes, it’s an expensive Mustang. But rarity has a habit of making things interesting.
The good news for 2027 is that the Dark Horse SC isn’t going entirely soft. A new convertible version joins the range, offering the same high-powered pony-car attitude with the roof removed.
Whether that’s your idea of track-day heaven or an invitation to mess up your hair is entirely up to you.
