Volkswagen has revealed the pricing for its updated Touareg luxury SUV. Only one engine will be available, the 3.0-litre V6 TDi which will feature two power derivatives. The engine is now slightly more efficient and cleaner due to the use of low resistance tyres and a coasting function which means the Touareg is now in compliance with Euro 6 emissions legislation. The 4.2-litre V8 has been kicked into touch so has the hybrid (UK only).
The 3.0-litre V6 TDi 262PS power variant has seen a 17PS increase while the entry level power derivative remains at 204PS. Standard throughout the model range is an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Touareg has seen modifications to the exterior, a front bumper and headlights give a sharper look in keeping with the company’s new design language. But this Touareg update will be the last before it is completely overhauled in 2015. We say wait for a few months before VW dealers start to discount or just save your money until next years model is revealed at the Frankfurt Motorshow.
And don’t believe the dealers who say they have not been informed about the new model, VW always keeps their dealers in the the know about future products.
Three trim levels are available SE, Escape and R-Line, all trim levels come well specced the top of the range R-line features a bespoke body kit and 20 inch ‘Tarragona’ alloys, lowered suspension and LED Daytime running lights and you can expect this model to come fully loaded with a high level of toys. which is what to expect considering it costs £47k
