Vauxhall have given the Adam range a metaphorical kick in the teeth with a new, but not unexpected, top of the range performance version, the Adam S.
The Adam S Will use a specially modified version of the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine and it will scream out 148 bhp, accelerate from 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph.
Vauxhall’s engineers have developed a specially tuned performance chassis, sharpened up the steering and fitted the brake system from the VXR S for increased braking performance.
Hot hatch hot heads, try saying that quickly, have an option to choose between 17-in or 18-inch alloys.
To complete the buff look Vauxhall have given the Adam S unique styling decals such as a front lip spoiler, side sill moldings and a rear roof spoiler.
Customers have a choice of ten body colors and four further roof combinations and the equipment lists includes climate control, tinted LED daytime running lights and Recaro Performance seats to name but a few. Also included is Vauxhall’s all in one IntelliLnk infotainment system, a 7 inch HD touch screen which includes Android and Apple support.
The Adam S order books open in January 2015 with deliveries reaching customers by April, a premier is scheduled for the Paris Motorshow on 4th October 2014.
No word on price just yet, dang these car makers they just want to drag the story out just a little longer so we in the media have something to write about in the next few weeks. Its estimated to cost around £15k GBP.
