Renault Alpine is Uncharacteristically Interesting

Renault are known for their cost per component per vehicle manufacturing ROI, many car companies do it but Renault are the tightest wads of them all. But kudos to Renault for once because the Alpine sports car is Renault at their creative best, from time to time Renault can and do surprise. The company has revealed how many Alpine sports cars it expects to make annually, the Alpines development head, Bernard Olivier recently said in an interview “In terms of scale, on average [annual production] volume will be about 3,000 cars, with a peak of 5,000 initially due to the novelty factor,”. The Alpine is scheduled to commence production in 2016 and will be sold in Europe and new emerging economic powers of the far east the following year. Olivier added “the project is on schedule,” adding that the automaker is “on track to deliver the model to customers in about two years.” Details of the Renault Alpine a scare  at the moment, the Alpine brand is a performance halo car for the company and no Alpine badge cars have been made since 1995. Coincidentally the Alpine brand marks 60 years and the latest incarnation was created specifically  for the Gran Turismo 6 racing game for the PlayStation 4.  Renault-Alpine-Gran-Tursimo
