Clarkson Suspended From Top Gear After Fight
Auto News

Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended from Top Gear after a confrontation with one of the show’s producer. The BBC are reporting the suspension is due to a ‘fracas’ which is a polite way of saying Jeremy punched somebody in the face. Allegedly.

The BBC took immediate action pulling the latest episode from the TV schedules, which was due to be broadcast this Sunday, and announcing it was carrying out a full investigation.

It is unclear if the incident happened during the studio recording of the show, which is usually filmed on the Wednesday before being edited and made ready for the Sunday time-slot.

Clarkson was on a final warning from the BBC after a series of gaffes were made public in addition to the show constantly pushing the BBC’s best practice and patience.

It is unclear whether this breach will play a part in Clarkson’s possible dismissal. If that happens then both Clarkson and the BBC will have to agree upon a severance package which has probably already been written into a clause somewhere in his contract. A kind of pre-nuptial agreement.

However Top Gear is one of the world’s most watched car shows and has made the BBC millions and continues to do so. Clarkson has also benefited his net worth is estimated to be between £12-15 million pounds.

The question is will the BBC conclude that the ‘fracas’ was a ‘misunderstanding’ between two hot heads or was there a more serious breach than is otherwise known.

Clarkson has built up enemies among some BBC executives who see him as a dinosaur with an iPod and they would be glad to see the back of him.

In the end, the BBC could conclude that the incident was not serious enough to merit Clarkson’s dismissal and that a warning about future conduct will be issued instead, this is what we believe will happen.

In the meantime the show will go on, not this Sunday but the next.
