OK so this is the viral video of the moment, car and of course crash related. The video was recorded by a fan attending the World Rally Championship being held in Mexico.
Crashing is part of the appeal of the WRC and the competing drivers know the dangers all too well well. The M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS was being driven by 27 year old Estonian Ott Tanak whose co-pilot was Raigo Molder.
Approaching a bend Tanak appears to be entering with a little too much speed and out brakes himself which causes his WRC Fiesta RS to understeer then slide down an embankment, roll onto its roof and into a narrow river pass below.
The drivers act quickly and manage to get out and swim clear before the car it sinks.
