Is The TT Sportback Set To Become Production Ready?
Auto News
Audi wants to become a major force in the premium car segment and there are a number ways in which to achieve this. One obvious way is to create products people are proud to own and the other is to build up the premium-ness of the brand through a blaze of positive publicity. Another factor is to make as many cars possible to out compete and therefore outsell your rival. Enter the TT Sportback which was revealed as a concept at last years Paris Motorshow. AudiTT-Sportback-Rear It’s difficult to get your head round the TT Coupe being turned into a four door derivative and therefore into a four seater version but it seems Audi may well bring the TT Sportback concept to market. AudiTT-Sportback-Boot Chinese website infor.xcar.com claims that Audi will commence production of the TT Sportback this year, November 20th is the specific date given. The TT Sportback is 2.4 inches wider, 11.5 inches longer and is actually 1.2 inches lower than the 2 door Coupe it’s based upon. AudiTT-Sportback-Rear-Seats Expect the engine range from the TT Coupe to be carried over to the TT Sportback so that means diesels and petrol variants. And also expect a high-performing RS version in the next year or so. AudiTT-Sportback-Interior Don’t expect the TT Sportback’s conceptual interior to be carried over because the current interior form the Coupe’s interior will highly likly be used. That is if the TT Sportback does actually go into production, info.xcar.com also cite that the TT Sportback will be built in China.  AudiTT-Sportback-Front
