Based on the Chevy Camaro the Avista is a rear-wheel drive, twin-turbo powered, 400bhp V6. In the US Buick is seen as being like the American equivalent of Mercedes or at least that’s how the marketing like portray Buick to it’s home territory.
In reality many of the models in Buick’s current line up are basically rebadged Opel/Vauxhalls. Why you may ask? GM and cost say we. Buick is owned by GM and the accountants have the final say on how to actually spell luxury.
Will the Avista be built? No way, never in a million years but the concept could spawn a filtered down version but it would never stick close to the original vision. Why you say? GM and cost say we.
So the Avista, as nice as it is, will end its days sitting in a corner of a giant storage facility and slowly gathering a layer of dust because in America its cheaper to store things than to take a leap of faith. And that’s how the reality TV program Storage Hunters was born. Born in the US of A.
But we here at DCB Towers think you don’t have get on your knees and beg Buick to make the Avista, the Mercedes S Class Coupe is just as nice and you can buy one… in a dealership.
