The surprise is that we really don’t know what Lotus is cooking up right now. Usually leaks do occur a few weeks prior to a major news event, not so for Lotus. We have not even a scrap of evidence. Lotus very rarely attends Motorshows doing so this year is a mark of renewed confidence and hope for a more financially stable future. It’s also a chance for Lotus to say “HEY! look at me!”. But what are Lotus taking with them to Geneva? What we do know is Lotus CEO Jean Marc Gales will personally unveil what he is calling the company’s “fastest ever lineup” of production road cars. We do know that visitors will get the chance to see Lotus’ current fastest ever lineup, the 3-Eleven Road & Race which is a 460bhp open top sports car with a sub 3second 0-62mph time. You’ll also get the chance to see the Elise Cup 250 which yet again goes under the banner of being the fastest ever street legal Lotus. The Elise Cup 250 looses 21kg and gains 26hp taking its supercharged output to 243bhp in a car that weighs 931kg. Epically Lotus we reckon. Naturally the 0-62mph time is quick… 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 154mph.
