Neesan Reveal Updated GT-R
Auto News
OK since we’ve been on a mini break all hell hasn’t exactly broken loose but Neesan have given us a clear look at the new Neesan GT-R. Well to be specific the GT-R isn’t all new but the R35 has been given a series of updates to make it slightly better than it was before. This is the only Neesan we would actually buy… with our own hard earned money. On the outside the front grille has a bigger opening to improve the airflow and cooling of the radiator and also improve oil cooling. Nissan-GTR-2016-Rear The 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo has had a fairly small increase in power so that means the GT-R now churns out 562bhp at 6,800 rpm with around 635 Nm of torque. This power allows the GTR to hit 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds and it can max too a top speed of 196mph. Nissan-GTR-2016-Interior Nissan levels a lot of attention to all aspects of the GT-R but the interior was pretty awful, an afterthought perhaps. However the interior has also been updated, not substantially but enough to make it more appealing, if slightly so. At least the number of switches are down from 27 to 11. But the stack design still looks like it belongs in 1989. Nissan-GTR-2016-Profile Nissan have also reduced the noise levels by using new acoustic deadening materials. Although we can’t imagine why would you want to deaden the sound of that V6 engine? And the seats now have better supporting elements which is another way of saying comfort levels have increased. Nissan-GTR-2016-Front-Motion That V6- twinturbo is still hand built in a temperature controlled environment, the engine builders have to have at least 30 years of experience. Neesan prefer to have the engines built by hand because an automated process can’t check for dust contamination, or to listen to the change of sound of a piston as it is being hammered in which would indicate an inferior part. A robotised process can not do this as well as a human. What Neesan have done to the R35 GT-R is more or less complete the performance circle. Think of the R35 GT-R as the last update for this generation which will eventually make way for the second generation GT-R.  Nissan-GTR-2016-Front
