We knew the 3008 would bet getting a re-design, that much we can say. We also thought Peugeot would take an evolutionary approach with the exterior design language. But this is the new 3008 and its talking a completely new language. And it’s a language we can clearly understand. Peugeot are saying that their new 3008 is the most advanced vehicle the company has made to date. The new 3008 is 100kg lighter, offers more interior space over the previous generation yet it will become one of the most compact SUV’s in its segment. Luggage space has also improved with a capacity of 520L, almost 90L bigger than the previous generation. With the seats folded flat total luggage space is 1589 litres. With the integration of touchscreen technology many people who hark for the good old days of pressing physical buttons physically will be happy to note that the 3008 continues this 20th Century trend. The Peugeot iCockpit features what Peugeot calls sensory buttons which controls the Sight-by varying the intensity of ambient lighting and the colour instrument screens. Hearing – via the musical ambiance settings. Touch – via the multi-point massage embedded in the seats (with up to five programmes. And Smell – via the aroma from the fragrance diffuser. Peugeot adopt bench seats for the rear seats and an adaptable moving floor to ensure unfettered access to the 3008’s maximum payload. The 3008 will also offer a fully digital enabled instrument binnacle and 3d Navigation (i-Cockpit) which can either be accessed by the touchscreen interface or via the digital binnacle. Top of the range models will feature a 515 watt sound system from FOCAL®. Driver assistance technology will include Active Safety Brake and Distance Alert, a distance alert function (risk of collision warning) with automatic emergency braking. Additional available is Active Involuntary Crossing Line, a lane departure alert for safer driving with visual and audible warnings and active vehicle control. Visiopark 1 & 2, with Visiopark 1 is a 180° view camera on the tailgate and Visiopark 2 adding the same camera to the front bumper for a complete 360° exterior vehicle view on the interior touch screen. The new PEUGEOT 3008 SUV comes with a range of fuel efficient Euro6.1 petrol and diesel engines. Four petrol models are available, including the 1.2L PureTech 130 Stop&Start (S&S) with CO₂ emission of just 115g/km:

Customers also have a choice of five diesel engine options, with BlueHDi technology capable of reducing emissions to just 100g/km:

• 1.6L BlueHDi 120 S&S  6-speed Manual (BVM6 – for normal and low consumption versions)
• 1.6L BlueHDi 120 S&S  6-speed Automatic (EAT6)

• 2.0L BlueHDi 180 S&S  6-speed Automatic (EAT6)

The new 3008 will debut at the Paris Motorshow in September with UK orders starting from November for January deliveries.
