Would You Buy This… Renault… Megane…Saloon?
Auto News
To answer the banner headline directly no we would not buy this Renault Megane Saloon. We here at DCB would never entertain the thought of even considering the thought of buying a Renault Megane, Why? Because in the past and between us we have been Renault owners. The experience of owning a Renault was short-lived, much it was fraught and the combined experience was a nightmare vision of broken turbo’s and rusting bodywork. However we have to be responsible and informative, and impartial even though we’re not… so here is the Renault Megane saloon. Renault-Megane-Saloon-Profile Renault might do things differently these days, they may even have improved, but we have tested a few about two years ago and it still felt like Renault of old but with piano black inserts. But it isn’t just Renault’s reliability that leaves us in a tangle it’s the obvious fact that this Megane Saloon is dog ugly. The Megane will now have three bodystyles, the hatch, estate and now this ugly-saloon. The Megane saloon is expected to be sold under the moniker, Grand Coupe. Renault-Megane-Saloon-Interior If you are interested in boot space then the saloon will offer a tidy 508-litres of load space, plenty of room then to hide in shame at the very though of owning one. The interior is carried over from the Hatch and estate variants and will include a 7-inch TFT display and R-Link 2 infotainment system. A range of petrol and diesel engines will be offered in various states of power. UK customers get a choice of two TCe petrol units and two turbocharged dCi diesel units the later rated at 110bhp and 130bhp. Renault-Megane-Saloon-Interior Standard equipment will include the usual ESC, ABS, EBD, cruise control, Hil Start Assist and even cruise control. Trim levels are as abundant as life in the Amazon rain forest and the Megane gets 4 in total. Expression+  with Dynamique Nav, Dynamique S Nav, Signature Nav, GT-Line Nav and GT Nav are offered with a total of 24 sub trims to choose from. There are also a number of personalistion packs on offer such as BOSE Pack which adds alcantara trim with a premium audio experience. The entry level Megane+ TCe 130 starts £16k and will be available in either manual or automatic. Would we here at DCB Towers buy one? HELL NO!  Renault-Megane-Saloon-Front
