Ferrari Reveal V8 Turbo GTC4Lusso T
Auto News
It’s not the nicest looking Ferrari but to be fair the GTC4Lusso, nee FF,  looks much better in person than the photo’s convey. The GTC4Lusso, nee FF, received a series of mid-life updates in February an now it’s received perhaps the biggest upheaval of all. That classic naturally aspirated V12 is gone and it’s been replaced by a smaller more efficient V8 Turbo. Enter the GT4Lusso T. It’s still not a Ferrari classic in terms of looks, but what it is meant to be is Ferrari’s first V8 turbo powered 4 seater, which is PR spin for “we are getting rid of the V12 for good“. ferrari-gt4lusso-t-rear The 2016 Paris Motor Show will provide the venue for the unveiling of the GTC4Lusso T. The new GT ditches the all 4-wheel drive and returns to a rear-wheel-only drive set-up. But it will have four-wheel steering, lighter overall weight and increased weight bias towards the rear (46:54). The car’s 3.9-litre V8 turbo outputs 601 bhp at 7,500 rpm while maximum torque of 760 Nm is available at between 3,000 and 5,250 rpm. Ferrari say that the new Turbo powerplant has a “rich powerful soundtrack in acceleration that becomes more muted at lower speeds”. ferrari-gt4lusso-t The GTC4Lusso T’s dynamic control systems have been specifically calibrated to boost responsiveness to commands. The 4WS (rear-wheel steering), which is integrated with Side Slip Control (SSC3), now offers rapid response to steering wheel inputs entering and exiting corners, thanks to the rear wheels steering in the same direction as the front ones. The longitudinal performance (acceleration and braking performances) in this new model has been enhanced at low speeds by Variable Boost Management and underscored by throttle response with zero turbo lag. The GTC4Lusso T’s styling is a contemporary take on the shooting brake coupé, with an almost fastback-like silhouette. We say it looks a little odd but is much better in person. Ferrari have yet to reveal pricing for the GT4Lusso T but expect it to be expensive around £255,000 GBP expensive.  ferrari-gt4lusso-t-motion
