When we first saw this video of a man  jumping over a fence just before a car hits the guardrail, we thought it wasn’t for real. But it is and it did really happen or in the case of the human being involved it very nearly did happen.

The Nurburgring, Germany where ordinary folks in ordinary or extraordinary cars can lap the circuit so long as they have costly unlimited insurance liability.

As with anything at the Nurburgring it all starts with a crash, usually and in this case a crash into the barriers.

The car in question is, unsurprisingly, a BMW. The driver manages to recover his now damaged car to the other side of the track, away from the apex and corner exit.

As he does so his damaged BMW deposits broken shards of metal onto the race/road track. A fellow ‘Ringer’ decides to warn oncoming traffic of the potential danger.

However the individual decides to warn fellow ‘Ringers’ by waving his arms, outside of the safety barriers and is exposed at the side of the track.

Then it nearly happens, another BMW gets its rears mixed up with the front and very nearly collides with the idiot at the side of the track who should have been behind the Guard Rail.

If anything can be learned from this video then don’t drive a BMW at the Nurburgring.
