Merecedes S-Class: Worth The Money?
Features
Mercedes-Benz is one of these premium car brands that virtually everyone on the planet knows about! The German marque is no stranger to unveiling cars that are luxurious, sleek, and have serious horsepower under the bonnet (especially the AMG models)! Although it doesn’t get talked about much in the motoring media, the S-Class is perhaps the epitome of luxurious and high-performance driving. The only downside, of course, is the cost: the cheapest brand new model starts at around £70k! Still, if money’s no object, here’s why it could offer you some excellent value for money: If you’re a gadget geek, it’s your dream on wheels When you spend seventy grand on a new car, you expect it to be packed full of features and performance. The good news is that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class delivers in that respect! If you love your gadgets and electronic toys, this is the car for you. For a start, it comes with LED interior and exterior lighting. What does that mean for you? Well, the answer is simple: driving in the dark is no longer a nightmare as the world around you is well-illuminated! Mercedes-S-Cla-Worth-It-Interior Certain models come with cameras and radar to scan the road ahead and around the car. It can then do things like adjust the suspension firmness on the fly for a perfect ride. Plus, it can provide near-autonomous driving. If you’re interested in self-driving cars, the S-Class takes you one step closer! Perfect for chauffeuring people around If you’d rather someone do the driving for you while you sit back and relax, the S-Class offers you the perfect solution. Like the BMW 7-Series, it’s a car designed for use as a limousine. You’ll often find executive car hire companies using the S-Class to ferry discerning clients around from A to B. Of course, it’s still a great driver’s car if you’d prefer to sit up-front and get to your destinations under your own steam. Choice of engines to suit all needs You might think that the Mercedes-Benz S-Class comes with a thirsty V8 petrol engine under the bonnet. The truth is, you can get the model in a variety of powerplant choices. Yes, you can get a V8 if you buy an AMG or Maybach variant. But, it’s also possible to get hybrid V6 petrol or diesel engines too. Mercedes-S-Cla-Worth-It-Rear If you long for fuel economy over performance, the 3.0 diesel is for you. It boasts an impressive 52 MPG combined, and the power isn’t too shabby at 254 bhp. Plus, it’s only £145 a year to tax! The diesel-electric hybrid offers the best fuel economy at 61 MPG combined and road tax at only £20/year. But, the downside is that it’s got a slower 0-60 mph (7.4 seconds versus 6.3 for the 3.0 diesel). The 6.0-litre petrol Maybach version is the most powerful and least fuel economical of the engine choices. Offering 522 bhp as standard and a 0-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds, the model is no slouch! You’ll just have to consider if the £172k price tag is worth it, though! So, is the Mercedes-Benz S-Class worth the money? Absolutely… if you have the money!  Mercedes-S-Cla-Worth-It-Private-Jet
