Redeeming features include a rear roof spoiler… whoppie-do. It’s got blue-stitched mats to give the interior a premium finish.. whoppie-do. It’s got LED headlamps… we’re OK with dat.
Being a pure electric car means the Leaf will only ever see active duty within a 70 mile radius of where you live. Lets say 50 miles to be on the safe side because fully charged the Leaf has a 155 mile range… whoopie-do.
So what’s the point of the Leaf? you have to spend all day charging it and you are effectively stranded within a 50-70 mile radius of where you live or the nearest charging point which total about 3.
Mind you this is the interesting part, Nissan is offering a finance deal with 0% APR from £207 per month with no deposit, free insurance in the first year and two years free serving. Now THAT is a bargain so say we.
But it’s still not enough, a car is about freedom with the Leaf’s limited range and long charging times it just doesn’t make any sense to be continually stranded in one place.
Maybe if battery technology improved then yes we would be very interested. It’s a good deal but for now we like the flexibility proper cars offer… 16-inch alloys? what the hell were Nissan thinking…
