After the ending of the dreadful 5th Gear the only bright spot of the show, Tiff Needell, (or Tiffers as we call him) has found a new home on the interweb. EVO’s YouTube channel. Keen to utilise Tiffers racing, test and road development experience and doubly keen to forget about 5th Gear, EVO task Tiffers with pitting the Audi R8 against the Nissan GT-R Nismo.
Its a hard life being a motoring journalist for sure, testing a V6 twin turbo, 592bhp GT-R Nismo against a 5.2-litre, 600bhp Audi R8 V10 Plus is as tough as it gets.
The R8 in Plus spec costs £134,000 while the GT-R in Nismo spec is over £15k more expensive, so the question is… is it worth spending an extra £15k on the Nismo for 8bhp less?
Personally, the answer is no, that V10 in the R8 is a classic soundtrack and worth the price of admission alone, watch the video to find out what Tiffers thinks.
Our other concern is this, why is “Sutters” voicing the introduction so creepily, we’re sure Tiffers can speak for himself.
