The only Ford’s we genuinely love are the GT40, F150 Pickup and the Ford Transit. We don’t like any other Ford, and if you are a media stenographer who manages to get onto Ford’s press fleet list, you have to feign liking every damn thing about Ford. Even a sniveling career sociopath such as Oliver Rowe who a disturbing ability to deliver a few well-tuned clangers during conversations to satisfy his errant self-importance. Thankfully our Ford nightmare has been over for many a year and we are safe in the knowledge that we will never be invited back. And thank the maker we were never important enough to be invited to those media skiing holidays to the Alps. Or as we refer to them corporate capture and torture holidays, which is in-your-face all expenses paid jolly to buying media silence. Imagine holidaying with people you have to like for the sake of it, water-boarding seems much more perferable.

Now let us unravel our minds… let us engage in our general wellbeing and direct positive thoughts towards the Ford GT. As you may well know the Ford GT is a limited edition mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive supercar powered by a V6 twin-turbo. It’s good for 647bhp and 746Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque. It’s also good for 0-to-60 mph in around 3 seconds, and it will hit a top speed of 217 mph. The Ford GT uses Formula One derived pushrod suspension. It is the very best of Ford, and the very best of Ford is always a fleeting here-today-gone-tomorrow moment.

Production is limited to 1,350 units and each car will cost a cool $500,000. Manufacturing began in December 2016 and is scheduled to continue through 2022, with a planned production rate of one car per day at a low-volume assembly facility in Markham, Ontario, Canada. 

Ford placed a 2-year seller’s embargo on the first batch of cars. Now that embargo is over, early examples are starting to be listed for sale. This specific Ford GT is being sold at a $250,000 premium. The special order blue was delivered new in 2018 and the owner has covered 4,000 miles.
