Here is the all-new Audi A6 Avant concept, it signals a way forward for the brand and also gives an insight into the look of the next-generation Audi A6 design language. The current Audi A6 Avant is the best-looking estate car you can buy right now, it’s our personal favorite. But every generation of cars will eventually be replaced. The A6 Avant concept gives us an insight into that next generation. And if the next generation A6 Avant looks this good, Audi you can take my money now.

But will it be combustion or will it be exclusively electric power that drives the next generation A6? Going forward it will be a combination of electrified combustion engine powerplants and fully electric variants. The A6 Avant Concept will most likely come in a pure electric e-Tron variant.

Audi’s electric car strategy is being built around the company’s PPE Platform, Premium Platform Electric. By 2026 the company will switch to building fully electric cars. However, Audi will continue to serve markets with combustion-powered cars that have an undefined electric charging network.

That being said the Audi A6 Avant Concept is built around pure electric 800-volt technology. The 270 kW charging capacity gives a theoretical range of up to 700 kilometres (435 miles). The “up to” term is a get-out clause. It means the actual range will fall short of the theoretical range. And that depends on the drive system and model variant.

Audi claims a 0-62mph time in less than four seconds. The charging capacity of up to 270 kW will add about 300 kilometres (186 miles) of range in 10 minutes at a fast-charging station.

The exterior features Three small, high-resolution LED projectors are built into each side of the body. When the doors are opened, the ground beneath them is transformed into a stage.

The Digital Matrix LED front headlights can also double as an LED cinema projector. No interior details were revealed. Expect to see the latest in QD OLED screen technologies. We doubt Audi will do a bad job on the interior.
