Alfa Romeo’s long, long, really long return to the USA and Canada, EH! has begun. The company is moving forward at a micro-millimeter pace. At this rate the covid pandemic will be long forgotten, a mere footnote in the annuals of history before Alfa makes any impact at all. Leading this slow march, if you can even call it that, is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale. Only 15 such models will ever be sold in North America.

Clearly, Alfa Romeo’s enthusiasm for the Americas (North America) is about as audible as a permanently closed recording studio. So what is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Speciale about? First of all the engine, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit provides 280 horsepower and 306 lb-ft (415 Nm) of torque, 0-100 kph (62 mph) takes 5.1 seconds.

The Guilia Speciale also features AWD, a limited-slip rear differential, adaptive suspension, and 19-inch alloy wheels.  The special edition exterior paintwork in this particular example is called Verde Montreal which is complemented by black carbon accents, from the alloys, mirror caps, grille-mesh and badging.

The interior is typical of a special edition car, a mix of premium grade leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber inserts. And let’s not forget special edition contrast stitching, red in this case.
