Sandy Munro is an automotive engineer turned automotive manufacturer consultant. His business is to improve and streamline vehicle manufacturing. Munro’s team takes a look at the Rivian RT1, the teardown reveals the structural engineering behind the R1T.
Inspecting the front structure, Munro’s team concludes that the R1T sub-frame assembly is over-engineered. What this video reveals is that vehicle design isn’t focused on appearance.
A lot of work goes into the structural engineering of vehicle design which often gets overlooked or is not really interesting enough for a majority of consumers.
If you are an engineering geek, this R1T teardown is akin to watching a Tom Cruise action movie.
