Production Ready Cybertruck Interior Revealed At Tesla Investor Day
Auto News

The Tesla Investor Day, a first for the company, revealed not just the company’s new “Accelerate” growth strategy, but also by proxy, the interior of the much anticipated Cybertruck. A Twitter user and Tesla Investor Day attendee gave his followers a sneak peek of what is probably a production-ready Cybertruck show car. The Cybertruck’s interior follows Tesla’s minimalist design language, no surprise there.

The interior seems to be lined with a microfibre material. The steering wheel is rectangular, a departure from the round steering wheels used for the Model 3 and Y, etc. Will the Cybertruck get the Yoke steering wheel?

The Twitter user also captured external shots of the Cybertruck. Tesla has formulated a special steel that is used for the Elon Musk-owned Starship space rocket. Cybertruck will use cold rolled steel that is so corrosive resistant that it requires no finishing at all. Cold rolled steel also offers superior strength and endurance.

Cybertruck’s simple exterior lines have a purpose. Tesla is using flat panel construction for Cyberturck, therefore, negating the necessity to make expensive stamping tools. The panels will be either waterjet or laser cut and welded together. The more complex shapes will require relatively simple press and crease tooling to form.

Cybertruck production is expected to start at the end of 2023… ish. Elon Musk has stated that he wants Cybertruck to affordable and has a target of making 250K per year. It will take time for Cybertruck volume production to scale in order to meet that 250K target, and we don’t know how what affordable means.

We estimate Cybertruck will have a starting price of at least $80K.
