Yes, folks, the PlayStation video game Gran Turismo has been turned into a live-action movie by Sony Entertainment, the feature film division of the Sony corporate monopoly. As an avid player of Gran Turismo, it’s hard to believe that the video game is now a live-action movie.
The game is a mere backdrop based on the true-life exploits of Jann Mardenborough, a teenager who entered and won the Playstation GT Academy, an online competition with Sony Entertainment, Nissan and the maker of Gran Turismo.
Nissan organized an online competition inviting Gran Turismo players worldwide to compete for an actual race seat. Over 90,000 gamers entered the event, Mardenborough won it at the age of 19.
Mardenborough has since gone on to compete in GT Endurance racing, GP2, GP3, and is a simulator driver in Formula E for Nissan e Damms.
Gran Turismo the movie also co-stars Orlando Bloom AKA Legolas.
