MG China is gearing up for the highly anticipated launch of the MG Cyberster, the most intriguing sports coupe of the decade. What makes it so intriguing is that it’s the first electric sports coupe to hit the market since the Tesla Roadster. However, with advancements in the science and technology of electric cars since the Roadster’s debut in 2008, the Cyberster is proof that the concept is finally feasible.
Recently, MG revealed the production-ready interior, which has been toned down from its pre-production version. The previous wild-eyed nod to the future has been replaced with a simplified design language, and the overall appearance has improved as a result.
As a car owner, you spend most of your time inside the vehicle, as sitting on the roof is not an option. Therefore, when you invest £50K in a car, you anticipate premium levels of interior trim, fit, and finish. Based on what has been observed, one can speculate that the MG Cybester interior is designed to deliver a premium experience.
The MG Cyberster is set to be priced at approximately $41,000 (300,000 yuan) in China, while it is expected to start at £55,000 in the UK. The vehicle will be available with two battery options: 66kWh and 77kWh, offering theoretical ranges of 311 miles and 360 miles, respectively.
The entry level Cyberster powered by a single electric motor is good for 314 hp, the dual motor variant will have a power output of 544 hp and a top speed of 124mph. The MG Cyberster will launch in China later this year and arrive on UK Shores early 2024.
