Great Wall To Resurrect The Sar Mecha Dragon Under The Ora Brand
Auto News

The Sar Mecha Dragon is a retro pet project by Great Wall Motors which first debuted as a concept in 2022. It’s about the size of a Mercedes S Class but it isn’t distinguished by its S Class rivalling engineering and design language. No, indeed the Sar Mecha Dragon is distinguished by its exterior styling… and not much else. After its 2022 debut, nothing more was heard, just another concept performing its publicity stunt duties.

But no, it isn’t a publicity stunt, Great Wall is determined to bring the Sar Mecha Dragon to life where it would live under the company’s Ora brand. Powering this… thing is a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system, delivering a formidable 544 bhp and 763 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 62mph take a little under 3 seconds.

Sar Mecha Dragon - Stanced

Great Wall Motor’s electric Ora brand is currently grappling with declining sales in China, plummeting by 58 percent over the past 12 months. Given this challenging landscape, resurrecting the Sar Mecha Dragon at a starting price of 488,000 yuan presents formidable hurdles in the fiercely competitive Chinese market.
