The new electric Mercedes G-Class has arrived, and it’s rather disappointing. While it retains the classic G-Class exterior, except for the grille highlighted by a unique LED light signature, the truly important sEV architecture is compromised.
The G-Class EV incorporates a massive 118 kWh battery, which is equivalent to having 8 Tesla Powerwalls, enough to power your house for a month. However, the G-Class range is limited to an official 250 miles.
In real-world performance, the G-Class EV is likely to suffer a drop in range, with expectations no better than 200 miles. Mercedes has slapped a £180,000 asking price for the G-Class EV.
