BMW has revealed the mid-cycle updated 2 Series, exemplifying how less can sometimes be just a little bit more. Updates, refreshes, or facelifts are intended to prolong the appeal of current-generation cars, which typically have a product life-cycle of around 5-8 years. This updated BMW 2 Series continues to offer much of what is already available, with the notable exceptions of new front and rear headlight designs, enhanced engine performance management, and slightly improved efficiency.
Furthermore, there are software upgrades and new interior material and alloy wheel choices available. In the UK, the lineup includes two efficient four-cylinder petrol units that deliver power through an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and classic rear-wheel drive.
Additionally, the range features an in-line six-cylinder engine in the new BMW M240i xDrive Coupé (combined fuel consumption approx: 32.1 – 34.9 mpg; CO2 emissions combined: 198 – 185 g/km according to WLTP; CO2 class: G), a unique offering in the competitive environment.
Priced from £36,865 RRP, the new BMW 2 Series Coupe is available to order at BMW Retailers in the UK starting today, with customer deliveries beginning in August 2024. The BMW M2, which is powered by a 480 bhp, 600 Nm torque in-line-six-cylinder engine starts from £64,000.
