Earlier this month, Bernie Ecclestone sold his car collection, which comprises F1 cars from the earliest days of the Formula One Championship. Maserati and Ferrari are represented at their splendid best. Indeed, the entire collection is exquisitely preserved, as if it had just rolled off the production line yesterday. Over the years, Ecclestone amassed 69 Grand Prix cars.

At 94, Ecclestone looks as sprightly as ever. His motivation for selling the collection is twofold: he recognizes that, despite his long and rewarding life, it will inevitably come to a natural conclusion, and he also has a hefty tax bill to settle.

Bernie sold his car collection in early March 2025 to Red Bull billionaire heir Mark Mateschitz. Though the exact sale price was not disclosed, Ecclestone’s Grand Prix car collection is valued at £500 million.
