Fred Vasseur, pub landlord and Ferrari F1 Team Principal signs contract extension
Fred “The Pub Landlord” Vasseur Extends Ferrari Contract With Multi Year Deal
Formula One

Don’t be deceived by the jolly South of France pub landlord demeanour—Fred Vasseur is highly intelligent and just as capable when it comes to running a brand as historic and important (at least in the world of F1) as Ferrari.

Speculation had been mounting for months regarding Vasseur’s future at Scuderia Ferrari. That speculation is now over, as the Frenchman has extended his tenure with a multi-year contract to remain Ferrari’s team principal—just as the massive F1 regulatory reset of 2026 looms on the horizon.

Despite failing to build on last year’s title fight and falling behind dominant rivals McLaren, Ferrari has reaffirmed its commitment to Vasseur, who has led the team to six race wins since taking over in 2023.

Vasseur described the extension as both a vote of confidence and a call to push forward, emphasising the need for consistency and progress.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna echoed that sentiment, acknowledging the team’s current struggles—no wins so far in 2025, with all podiums earned by Charles Leclerc—as well as the ongoing adaptation of new signing Lewis Hamilton.
