MG unveiled new details of its latest move into EVs: the MG IM5 executive saloon and the MG IM6 SUV. These new models, launched under the “Intelligence in Motion (IM)” designation branding, signal MG’s ambition to lead in EV technology and design, performance and accessibilty.
The MG IM5 Long Range model offers an impressive range of up to 441 miles on a single charge, supported by a 100 kWh battery and an 800V architecture that allows for ultra-fast charging—10 to 80 percent in just 17 minutes.

Both the IM5 and IM6 deliver rapid acceleration, with 0–62 mph times of 3.2 and 3.5 seconds respectively, thanks to MG developed Hurricane electric motors and dynamic digital chassis.

Inside, the IM models boast technology-rich, premium interiors. Highlights include an expansive 26.3-inch ultra-HD infotainment screen, a secondary 10.5-inch touchscreen, a panoramic roof, and a bespoke 20-speaker sound system with ceiling-mounted Sky Speakers.

Cabin refinement is further enhanced by double-layer laminated windows and cutting-edge features like Rainy Night Mode and One Touch Park Assist, which uses 360-degree cameras and autonomous driving functions for complex parking manoeuvres.

The IM5 also introduces rear-wheel turning technology, reducing its turning circle to under 10 metres. Both vehicles benefit from advanced assisted driving systems developed with Momenta.
In the UK, MG is launching six IM variants, with 75kWh and 100kWh battery options and both single and dual motor configurations. Pricing for the IM5 starts at £39,450 and goes up to £48,495 for the high-performance version. The larger IM6 SUV starts at £47,995 and peaks at £52,995 for the exclusive Launch Edition.
