Red Bull Sack Christian “Coco Pops” Horner
Formula One

Christian Horner’s tenure as Red Bull Team Principal has come to an end after 20 years at the helm of a team that delivered eight world championship titles and unprecedented success. His departure has come swiftly and, to some extent, of his own making—almost a year after he was accused of harassing a female employee.

Red Bull initially attempted to downplay the controversy with what many viewed as a kangaroo-court-style internal investigation, but it was the accuser who appeared to suffer the most. Since then, Horner’s position has remained under intense scrutiny, and for whatever reason, his time at Red Bull has now officially come to a close.

Once regarded as Red Bull’s guiding light, Horner lost much of his shine and credibility following the harassment allegations. The fallout included the departure of key personnel, most notably legendary designer Adrian Newey. The team’s performance has since declined, and it may not just be the alleged abuse of power that cost Horner support within the organization.

Horner’s exit will likely trigger a chain reaction, most notably, the potential departure of Max Verstappen. The team now faces a period of instability as it rebuilds around a new central figure and philosophy. The golden era for Red Bull may well be over, and within five years, the team could even exit Formula 1 altogether.

This is a developing story. Horner has yet to release a statement, but one is expected soon. This page will be updated accordingly.
