Iron Man’s Acura NSX Roadster Roars Back After A Decade In The Shadows
Auto News

Acura is yanking a piece of Marvel movie lore out of hiding and back into the spotlight—a one-off NSX Roadster from The Avengers, unseen in public for more than a decade. On Aug. 15, the car will roll into The Quail for Monterey Car Week, still wearing its “Stark 33” plate, as part of Acura’s 35th anniversary salute to the first-gen NSX.

Built for the big screen, the roadster channels the second-gen NSX Concept, but rides on a battle-worn 1991 chassis with 252,000 miles. Acura’s LA studio, led by Dave Marek, designed it; Trans FX in Oxnard gave it life with a resin-and-fiberglass body, lowered suspension, 18-inch wheels, and aftermarket seats—exactly as it looked when Tony Stark slid behind the wheel.

Next year, it goes under the gavel for charity, but Acura will start gathering would-be bidders this week.

At The Quail, it’ll share the stage with rarities like the 1995 NSX-R, the 1999 Zanardi Edition, and the brand’s future-focused RSX Prototype, a preview of Acura’s next all-electric performance SUV.
