The YANGWANG U9 Xtreme, BYD’s luxury performance flagship, has set a new benchmark by becoming the first electric supercar to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes, completing the 20.832km circuit in 6m59.157s—over five seconds faster than the previous class record. This follows the car’s recent world-record top speed of 496.22 km/h at ATP Papenburg.

Built on BYD’s 1200V ultra-high-voltage platform with four high-performance motors delivering over 3,000PS and a power-to-weight ratio of 1,217PS per tonne, the U9 Xtreme combines extreme straight-line speed with advanced track capabilities.

Key innovations include body-attitude control technology, a titanium-alloy carbon-ceramic braking system, a redesigned cooling system, and GitiSport e·GTR² PRO semi-slick tires developed with Giti.

Driven by experienced racer Moritz Kranz, the U9 Xtreme will be limited to 30 units.
